John Kim
Contact me
John is fairly new to the Step Safe family but hopes to increase his
involvement. He's a strong believer in the idea that all things are
eventually connected; this trait is likely what draws him to Step Safe and
its focus on connecting organizations, individuals, resources, etc.
John currently works as corporate social responsibility (CSR) marketing
manager for Herman Miller, Inc., based in Chicago, IL. He joined
Herman Miller after working as a branding/marketing strategist for a firm
focusing on the non-profit sector. But prior to this foray into the world
of branding, his education and work career was in the international
development and policy fields. He served as a volunteer in Morocco with the
Peace Corps, worked for the World Food Program in Malawi, and helped
establish the South Africa Food Bank Network in South Africa. He did his
undergraduate studies at Cornell University and received his master's in
public policy from Georgetown University.
He loves sushi, finding patterns in varied data sources, good whiskey, social entrepreneurship, and being completely out of his element.
