Jen completed a Bachelor of International Studies in 2010 and now works for the NSW Government in project management. She has been involved with Step Safe since early 2009 when, during a trip to Cambodia, she was honored to be invited to visit one of Step Safe's partners in Kampong Chhang. Seeing the passion, enthusiasm and dedication that the staff and children had for their center convinced her, after years of cynically studying how aid programs fail, that they can actually succeed and make a difference.

Jen's passion for travel began as a child growing up in Hong Kong. Since then, she has lived, travelled and studied all over Asia and Europe. In 2009 she spent six weeks on a university field trip to South East Asia, studying economic geography and development
    while living with rural families.

She likes photography, kayaking, dancing and baking cakes, and is currently on a mission to collect a postcard from every country in the world.

Jen hopes to continue working with Step Safe for a long time, as its philosophy of providing flexible assistance to local organizations, rather than dictating from above, is one she firmly believes should be applied more often in the development industry.
