Ka-on (pronounced "Ka" "on"... glad we got that out of the way) joined Step Safe in 2004. She has been working as a corporate lawyer at one of Australia's top-tier law firms since 2008. Prior to that, she worked for Justice Palmer in the Equity Division of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Despite working grueling hours as a lawyer, Ka-on will always have time for Step Safe and philanthropy. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Law degree from the University of Sydney. While she was studying, she worked at the Spastic Centre, assisting those with cerebral palsy. She completed part of her Arts degree as an exchange student at UCLA and, while at UCLA, she was a research assistant with a focus on comparative jurisprudence in social welfare. She came back from UCLA with a degree and a very bizarre accent (she was hoping to come back with just one of them).
She loves Sydney, but also loves traveling and hopes to work overseas one day. She will continue to work with Step Safe no matter where in the world she finds herself. If she had to choose a final meal, it would be a cheese fondue followed by a chocolate fondue. She loves baking without recipes, skiing and misquoting movies.
Ka-on's involvement in Step Safe combines her organizational and analytic skills with her passion for helping people.
